Why do I keep thinking about someone: We meet many people in our lifetime. Some of them make a lasting impression on us even if the connection has been short. For some strange reason, our thoughts keep hovering back to them and we fail to get them out of our minds. We may share a similar bond with people we already know. Our thoughts may drift over someone we love but consider unsuitable to have a relationship with.
There can be only two reasons for such a situation, either you love them or you hate them. In both scenes, it stands to reason that you are obsessed with them. If you have a crush on such a person, it is normal that they take over your thoughts and deny to leave you alone. If you are interested in them, it means that your mind is reacting predictably. You might continue to think about them, even if they make it clear to you that they are not interested in you.
If you do not like the person. You may have persistent disagreements, debates, and fights with this person. It can be your friend or family member. Staying with them makes you feel bothered and frustrated.
If left uncontrolled, this can turn into compulsive thoughts. It is harmful and can drive you into serious mental health disorders.
Why do I keep thinking about someone?
It is human nature
Having connections with people is in our DNA. Whether you want it or not, you ultimately connect with people you come across in your life. Building relationships with people is hard for you. You think about a person to evaluate their suitability for elevating the connection.
Either it is love or hate
You loved your ex sometime in the past and maybe you still do. But something diverted your relationship sour and it fell apart. You hate them for it. When you are uncertain about your feelings for a person, your mind keeps going back to them to gather a clear answer.
You are rejected by this person in past
You fell in love with this person, though the feelings were not reciprocated and continue to follow in the hope that your love can beat the resistance and you keep on thinking about the person.

Unsolved issues with this person
No matter what kind of relationship you have with this person, you find it hard to sit down and have an open conversation about the difference of opinion and lack of balance in the relationship. When tension and chaos are clouding the relationship, it is natural that you try to find a solution by thinking about it more often.
You are recollecting your past
Your opinions are more about yourself than about the other person. You loved the person you were when you were with this special person. So, in your memories of your former self, this person also pops up.
You were treated poorly by them
When you bear the trauma, it is usual for your mind to ponder on the events as a means to find a solution. If the person is from your past, you may be attempting to figure out alternative ways to handle the situation. Whatever the case may be, it is not a healthy practice. This ineffective exercise must be brought under control as soon as possible.
