You should act yourself. So, anytime you can decide that “this is how I want to live, and I don’t want to feel highly emotions as I am feeling for a long time”. You can anytime decide to be a less lazy, more productive, less self-abusive person.
Love yourself and feel loved
It’s human nature to feel happy and better when we are loved by other people and we start loving ourselves more when we are loved. So, it is necessary to love yourself and surround yourself with the people who love you unconditionally and judge you less, who are with you not only during the happy times but also while you feel sad or miserable.
Forget the past
We all have faced a past that was full of anxious moments, nightmares, sadness, and a wave of anger. But you need to understand those moments are gone and you don’t have to give your past the power to define your current situation. You should not let your past make you feel that your life is bad. Every second is new, so life is. So, it is better to live your life to the fullest and forget what happened in past.

Work on your personality
There might be a list of things that you hate about yourself, but what are you exactly doing about those hateful things? Are you working on changing them? No, I guess! If you are exceptional and are working to change your personality then it is good but if you are not doing anything to change your personality then I would say that this is high time that you should make a list of everything that you want to change about yourself and start working on them one by one. It will eventually help you in healing emotionally.
Learn to deal with situations
There are two types of circumstances that we face in our lives, i.e., 1. Which is in our control, 2. Which is out of our control. We all are aware that we should focus on situations that are in our control and try changing them rather than mourning for the situations which are beyond our situations. For example, climate change is not in our control but if you are stressed about changing your job, you can start looking for one now. As a result of these changes, you will feel emotionally better. Emotional healing need you to take real actions in life.
Know what you think
Understanding your thoughts in the process of healing plays a very crucial role. You need to make a checklist of your thoughts and understand why you think in a certain way. Further, focus on changing your negative thoughts, or it’s better if you mold them into positive ones.
There are n number of ways to heal yourself emotionally if you intentionally work on it. You can learn from your experience, share your thoughts with others who are suffering from similar situations, make a group of people for healing purposes, and talk to others about your situation.
