How to quiet your mind: If you are an overthinker, worrywart, or perfectionist, you are likely to love the idea of relaxation but hate that it does not come naturally to you. For many people, the hardest part about self-care is not letting your body rest, but rather figuring out how to calm your mind.
Most of us seek out normal stimuli because we do not want to feel bored, but that only drives it harder for us to relax. The necessity for stimulation means that your brain does not know how to shut off, so it roams from one thing to the other on random deviations.
Before you know it, you are stressing about something that was not even a few minutes ago. All of this makes you feel mentally burned out and exhausted.

Exercise
There are not only physical benefits of exercise, but it can also do wonders for your mind. Getting out of your head and into your body is a helpful way to direct any dispersed energy to a different place. Walks, weight-lifting, or kickboxing all force you to focus in diverse ways.
Meditate
Meditation is so necessary for anyone who lives in their head because it motivates them to sit still without reacting to their thoughts. Though meditation is challenging at the moment, your head will feel calmer after you are done with it.
Note down your thoughts
Write down every little thing that is drifting through your head. The to-dos, anxieties, calls to make, emails write it all down so you can see it in front of you. Write down your top five necessary tasks in order of priority and work on each one until they are all complete.
Declutter your space
Your environment can have a huge impact on your mind. While it doesn’t affect some people, some people feel more stressed out when the space around them is messy. If you feel the exact way, get rid of things you do not need, manage those piles, and clean the home that you have not touched in a long time.

When our mind is restless, it is comfortable to think that scrolling on the internet will provide a getaway. There are ways to make this happen if you are deliberately staying on the phone and scrolling social media that make you feel calm, but most of the time the content we consume can lead to more overwhelm and overthinking. If you need to quiet your mind down, take a break from your phone.
Force yourself to focus
Sometimes you need to concentrate, but your mind just would not let you. When that happens, you have to force yourself to get into the zone of pushing yourself to focus.
