How you talk to yourself can either move you ahead or keep you stuck. Often, having a mantra that you tell yourself in times of emotional pain can help you rethink. For example, instead of getting stuck in, “I cannot believe this happened to me” try an optimistic mantra such as, “I am blessed to be able to find a new direction in life.
Create bodily distance
It is not unusual to hear someone say that you should distance yourself from the person that is forcing you to be upset. Creating physical distance between ourselves and the person can help with letting go of the things that are hurting us.
